THE OPPORTUNITY
Oaktree & Lion are going to launch a hedge fund business that capitalises on the immense demand for digital asset investment strategies. With our flagship trading strategy already live and delivering exceptional results, we are now focused on scaling our AUM.
So we are seeking an entrepreneurial Co-Founder / Chief Operating Officer (COO) to be a key part of this; to design and execute the strategy, raise investment, manage the operations, and grow the business. This is a unique opportunity to join at an early stage and help build the best hedge fund in the digital asset space for investors.

Oaktree & Lion is a proprietary trading firm specializing in cryptocurrencies and its derivatives. We leverage a data-driven, process-oriented and risk-focused framework to deliver robust performance across diverse market conditions. We adapt traditional finance methods and deep expertise to the unique dynamics of digital assets, and our approach emphasizes market-agnostic strategies with broad diversification across short to long-term horizons. Our strategies include quantitative, discretionary, volatility and statistical arbitrage, tactical asset allocation, market-neutral and crisis-alpha/tail.
The founder is an experienced derivatives trader with a career spanning ING Barings, Mitsui & Co. and Vitol SA, and brings institutional experience covering equities and commodities to the digital asset space.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Leadership: Design and execute the business strategy and operational structure.
- Fundraising: Lead efforts to pitch the startup to investors, partners, and stakeholders; expand the firm's investor network.
- Launch Execution: Oversee the operational launch of the hedge fund.
- Operational Management: Handle procurement, HR, compliance, risk management, and team development.
- Growth Initiatives: Identify and pursue new opportunities, ensuring sustainable growth and innovation.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Experience: Previous experience in relevant roles (e.g., COO, strategy, operations) or an MBA or similar degree.
- Fundraising Expertise: Proven success in fundraising, with a strong network of investors.
- Entrepreneurial Mindset: A proactive, opportunity-spotting attitude with exceptional research and decision-making skills.
- Presentation Skills: Strong ability to pitch and negotiate effectively.
- Organizational Excellence: Outstanding project management, attention to detail, and multitasking capabilities.
